Connecting a Bank of Scotland Commercial account for Commercial Banking Online users
Enable Open Banking data sharing
You must enable Open Banking data sharing within Commercial Banking Online before you can connect your chosen account to Business Finance Assistant. Youâll need to be an administrator in Commercial Banking Online to do this.
Please have your card and reader ready. Youâll need them to complete this process.
- To add your business accounts to Open Banking, you must first create a new role or amend an existing role with Open Banking options selected. To do this, follow the steps on the CBO support page:

- You can now connect your Bank of Scotland commercial account(s) to Business Finance Assistant
Connect your Bank of Scotland Commercial account to Business Finance Assistant
You must connect a Bank of Scotland (Business or Commercial) account before you can connect accounts from other providers.
Please have your card and reader ready. Youâll need them to complete this process.
- Log in to Business Finance Assistant
- Click âConnect Bank Accountâ in the âRecent Transactionsâ widget, or click âBank Transactionsâ in the left-hand menu, then select âConnect Bank Accountâ

Please do let us know if a provider you require is not currently supported.
- Enter your Bank of Scotland Commercial Banking Online username and select âContinueâ

- Enter your Bank of Scotland Commercial Banking Online password and select âContinueâ
- Select the account(s) you wish to connect and select âContinueâ

- Follow the on-screen instructions using your card and reader. Then enter the 8 digit code displayed on your card reader, before clicking âContinueâ
- Business Finance Assistant will now import your transaction data for the previous 12 months. You can extend or define the transaction period later if you want. Click âNextâ
- The selected account(s) will be added to Business Finance Assistant. This may take a few moments if you are importing multiple accounts or a large number of transactions. Please wait until the sync has completed. Do not click âBackâ in the browser or refresh the page
- Once complete, the âBank Transactionsâ page will load and your connected accounts and transactions will be listed
